Capturing the beauty of flowers over 365 days

Day 8

The Coneflower, also known as “Echinacea”.    These stately flowers are only found in the eastern and central parts of the United States.  The generic name is a greek word that means “Hedgehog” due to the spiky feel of the flower head.  Echinacea is a herbaceous flowering plant that is part of the daisy family.  They are a hardy plant and bloom early spring thru late summer.
